Air Bearing Dynamic Simulator

Current Release: 4.4
Release Date: May 2007 (Updated October 8, 2007)
Files:
Manual: Included in zip files
Description:

The new CML Dynamic simulator is different from its predecessor in the following ways:

  • Addiction of an accurate reduced order finite element suspension.
  • We've moved from a three degree of freedom slider model to a six degree of freedom slider model.
  • Users can now enter a 2-D point by point disk topography. Previous versions of the simulator allowed the input of a 1-D point by point disk topography.

Current Release: 5.1
Release Date: July 2006 (updated: 10/8/07)
Files: Load Unload Simulator Version 5.1 (CML_DLULS.zip)
Manual: The CML Dynamic Load/Unload/Shock Simulator (version 5.1)
Description: Determines dynamic flying characteristics of arbitrary rail shapes under user specified run conditions. Simulates take-off, landing, CSS, track-seek, crash stop, and more. Incorporates contact model and disk texture capability.

New features for this release include:
  • Finite element modeling for the suspension
  • Modeling of user defined ramp profiles
  • Simulation of shock and vibration
  • Improved elastic impact modeling
  • Inclusion of intermolecular forces
  • Update (10/7/07): The simulator can now support grid sizes up to 994x994 and up to 200 points in each rail

Current Release: 4.34
Release Date: July 1998
Files:
Dyn434 - Use for non-load/unload simulations (ie. seek, bump response, etc.):
Dynamic L/UL Dynamic Simulator. Use this for dynamic load/unload simulations only:
Manual: dynman4.pdf (Adobe Acrobat)
Description: Determines dynamic flying characteristics of arbitrary rail shapes under user specified run conditions. Simulates take-off, landing, CSS, track-seek, crash stop, and more. Incorporates contact model and disk texture capability.
Notes: Newest version (4.34) is compatible with CML Air Bearing Design Program (CMLAir32) rail definition files (rail.dat). Dynamic Load/Unload version is not compatible with CMLAir32.
Previous Releases: dyn365, dyn366, dyn417
